Update – Frankston City Council Rates Response to COVID-19
July 1, 2020
Thank you to those who have supported our campaign to have Frankston City Council remove the 25% levy on all Commercial/Industrial properties.
We took the petition to Councils meeting on Monday 1st June. We collected 465 signatures within a 3-week period, which we thought was an excellent result given the restrictions around ‘social distancing’.
Unfortunately Council voted in favor of adopting the draft budget without amendment. Therefore you will be paying the additional 25% levy despite our strong opposition.
If you’d like to have a listen to the discussion from last Mondays meeting you can click on the below link, please note the discussion regarding the removal of the 25% levy is discussed 35 minutes into the meeting.
We will not rest here. We will now launch Stage 2 of our campaign.
The Frankston City Council elections are to be held on Saturday the 24th October 2020.
We will hold both current Councillors and potential candidates responsible. We will track their commitments and keep you closely informed.
In the meantime, if you have friends, family, colleagues, tenants, owners of property in the City of Frankston please forward them the attached link to sign.
