Auctions have a special place in our company and are very much part of our ‘can-do’ and ‘tell it to you straight’ culture. An auction is when everything and everyone comes together to secure a sale when the hammer falls or soon after. We don’t just bring our enthusiastic and experienced team to an auction, we bring theatre in the form of branded utes, flags, a marquee, A – frames and an historic auction bell.
That same bell was rung by Matt Nichols’ grandfather Eric Weber, who was well-known for auctioning residential land subdivisions under big top marquees.
In 1986, Matt’s father John Nichols, together with Kevin Sheehan, founded the REIV Senior Auction School, which soon became the training ground of the leading auctioneers of the day.
The Crowder family’s auction history is just as prolific. Over three generations of Crowder’s have been auctioning property, and today you’ll still see Michael Crowder and his father Geoffrey, auctioning Mornington Peninsula commercial and industrial property often side by side.
