Nichols Crowder Agent, Darryl Lever has recently assisted local business Levain Doughnuts upsize and move to their brand-new (soon to be announced) location!
Levain Doughnuts Business Owner, Anthony Randello-Jahn explains how they have continued their business innovation and adapted during the pandemic.
“From humble beginnings, in the summer of 2017 My best friend/ business partner and I stumbled upon making doughnuts from my Mum’s garage. We invested whatever savings we had to buy our first bench-top mixer and fryer. Production was limited but the journey began. We worked long and hard in perfecting each and every recipe that went into Levain. Everything was made from scratch. We started supplying boutique cafes and selling Levain at events. Customers loved that we created everything from scratch and specialised in Hand Crafted Doughnuts. We had great passion for making premium Hand Crafted Doughnuts.
During the early stages of Levain I used to frequently pull all-nighters to necessitate growing demand. All of the ingredients chosen by Levain are of the best quality we can source, we make all our glazes, icings, fillings and dough from scratch. Each doughnut is literally “Crafted From Scratch” We distribute in various channels such as wholesale, direct to customer and online delivery via our website and Uber Eats.
To ensure business success during COVID, we kept a narrow focus specialising in Hand Crafted Doughnuts at Levain. During COVID our online shop (home delivery) and Uber eats boomed with sales as the demand for Levain was unreal. Our wholesale clients that didn’t shut during Covid expanded into home delivery and they also increased sales significantly.
We are now upsizing to necessitate the growing demand of Levain! Upsizing will ensure smoother production, more innovation of doughnuts as well as expand our potential/exposure for retail trade.”
